State Congressmen Visit Volusia-Flagler Vascular Center Amidst Medicare Reforms

 In News, Uncategorized

On Wednesday, May 18, American Vascular Associates and Volusia-Flagler Vascular Center were proud to welcome Senator Tom Wright of Florida District 14 and Representative Webster Barnaby from Florida District 27.

The congressmen were met by two of the leaders at Volusia-Flagler Vascular Center: Dr. Danny Patel and Center Director Maxine Mann.

With Medicare cutbacks looming on the horizon, it was of the utmost importance that we provide the two with context around the care that is provided to patients in our various centers. After all, many leading government officials are unaware of the ongoings of our industry, let alone the fact that our physicians and their teams routinely save lives by saving limbs.

Thankfully, both Senator Write and Representative Barnaby were happy to learn more from our leaders.

Both men proved receptive to the visit and remained engaged; they asked many relevant questions and requested additional information after looking over the hand-outs Dr. Patel and Maxine Mann provided them.

Specifically, they asked for information that supports our position on the Physician Fee Schedule Reform.

It is our hope that leaders within our state government put a stop to the Medicare cutbacks that may make life-saving care less affordable and accessible. We sincerely thank Senator Wright and Representative Barnaby for their time and interest, and look forward to speaking with them again in the future!
